What is the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty)?

Short answer

A PCT application does not grant a patent by itself; it provides an international search report and up to thirty or thirty-one months to enter national phase in chosen countries, including India.

Definition

The Patent Cooperation Treaty is an international treaty administered by WIPO that allows applicants to file one international application and delay national phase entry in member countries.
